Professional

My professional life and my hobbies overlap extensively. I was always told to do something that makes you happy, so I chose CS. Below you will find links to my professional portfolio.

Research

I am currently doing independent research in the field of intrusion detection. I am attempting to transparently switch attackers between real-world systems and honeypots with the use of Snort. Basically, once Snort decides that traffic between a user (attacker) and the real-world server is mallicous, Snort will switch all future traffic from that user to the honeypot. There has been some reseach done in switching of descrete connections (DNS requests, HTTP requests, etc), but little has been done for continuous connections (telnet, SSH, etc). I plan to publish some of my findings soon.

You can find more information regarding Snort at www.snort.org. "Snort is an open source network intrusion detection system, capable of performing real-time traffic analysis and packet logging on IP networks."
